Built by STS is the product and development arm of Spears Tech Solutions—a place for the websites, templates, tools, resources, and ideas that grow out of real-world work.
It started with a simple idea: we don’t need to add more just because we can.
Before reaching for another framework, plugin, or platform, we ask what the tools we already have can do well. When there’s a genuine gap, that’s where building begins.
Create with purpose.

Improve it when experience gives us a reason.
That philosophy is already shaping what we create.
STS Starter began as our lightweight foundation for building native WordPress websites without depending on a page builder.
STS SEO started after an audit showed us which SEO responsibilities WordPress was already handling—and which pieces were actually missing.
BuiltBySTS.com itself is part of that process. It’s not just a place to display finished products. It’s where we’re putting our own work to use.
Built in the open.
We share what we’re learning through the Workshop: the decisions behind our builds, problems we encounter, approaches that work, and sometimes the things we decide not to build.
We believe the process can be useful too.
Some projects may eventually become downloadable products or resources. Others may remain internal tools that simply help us do better work.
Either way, we’re interested in solving real problems before creating feature lists.
